Italy boasts some of the most impressive churches, the problem is that most of them are generally closed except for very specific times. Closed until late morning, closed for lunch, closed for aperitivo, and obviously closed during the evening. When you travel, the point is also to run away from the schedule of everyday life, but if you want to visit a church in Italy, then you need to get with their program. So finding this seemingly unassuming church in the town of Sarzana (a town I didn't know even existed) open to the public past sundown was a blessing, a revelation, and dare I say it a miracle!!!
