ON THE ROAD PART X: OAKLAND CEMETERY

I was tired. We had spent all of our money and energy at Magic City the night before (unfortunately no story on that, things got a little out of control). However this is a stop I couldn't ignore, the monumental Oakland Cemetery, where Margaret Mitchell was laid to rest, among a number of other 'notable' people I didn't know. The cloudy day was perfect, what wasn't perfect was my sense of direction during the massive hangover. But even between all the one way streets, wrong turns, and driving over curbs, we made it! It was nearly empty, it felt like a private back garden… a very unusual but picturesque back garden.
