ON THE ROAD PART XIII: THE ALABAMA CROSS GARDEN

Another monumental roadside attraction in the lovely Alabama. It seems the state is littered with odd/ creepy 'attractions' along the deserted inland routes. Again, the directions to this were quite confusing and cryptic, no sings or arrows anywhere, just a few phrases I got from a random website explaining how to get there. This one is in Pratt county, close to Montgomery (which by the way looked like as ghost town). The Cross Garden is tucked away behind a golf club, I'm sure the members are thrilled that a fanatic took it upon himself to litter his house and surrounding areas with messages and signs proclaiming the end of the world, and predicting we will all got to hell if we do not repent. Oh yes and about a thousand crosses scattered everywhere. Once we finally reached our destination, it did not disappoint in the least, and we kept wondering what kind of person would have the time and energy to do all this. We soon got an answer when a lady in a pickup truck pulled up, she just wanted to let us know that apparently if the owner of the house was still alive, upon seeing us he would have probably shot at us.... which would have been quite the story to tell, if we didn't actually get hit of course.
