ON THE ROAD PART XXI: WHITE SANDS NATIONAL MONUMENT AND GILA CLIFF DWELLINGS NATIONAL MONUMENT

Heading back into the West felt good. We passed through Texas fairly quickly, as quickly as one can considering the size of it, to New Mexico, where are next few stops were planned.

White Sands National Monument was actually a random recommendation we got from someone in a bar back in Los Angeles, a recommendation we are glad we followed. It felt like such an improbable landscape for New Mexico. Which leads us to another surreal landscape, the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.
